Allotment shop

It is possible to purchase goods from the shop when a trustee is on site. This is indicated by the in/out board next to the shop door. In this way purchases are potentially possible during any daylight hour on any day of the week.

We prefer cashless payments, but can accept cheques if written in black ink, or cash.

In addition, there is a varying range of second hand tools that are individually marked.

There is a plant sales table outside the shop with a wide variety of vegetable and flower plants during the growing season. There is a notice of plants 'coming soon' which are being grown in the Association polytunnels. Please leave payment in the Honesty Box before taking plants from the table.

There is also a Donations table where plotholders leave either surplus produce or plants or items that they have no further use of but would be of use to someone else. You are asked to leave a donation in the shop for anything taken from this table. Plotholders must seek permission from a trustee before putting items on the table and must be prepared to remove and dispose of them if they have not gone from the table after a week.

On site toilet

There is a chemical toilet cubicle located behind the shop.

Vehicles on site

The speed limit all over site is a maximum of 5mph. The whole of the site is a pedestrian zone with free-range kids and elderly visitors. In addition to the main carpark next to the shop there are small lay-bys on some of the tracks. Drivers are asked to be considerate where they park and not to block access to other plotholders plots.

Social Hub

There are picnic tables in the verandah area next to the shop which plotholders and visitors are welcome to use. Many days of the week, when Trustees are on site the kettle in the shop will be on mid to late morning and you are welcome to join them for tea or coffee.

Chill out zones

There are three areas on site where plotholders and visitors are welcome to enjoy our very special environment: the Nature Reserve which includes the largest section of our site-wide community orchard; the Remembrance Garden dedicate to some of our memorable past plotholders which has an ancient shady apple tree and a beautiful wild flower meadow; and finally the Russell Lupin Garden which a more formalised flower garden and a nice place to have a picnic.
